FloCombat ranks the top 20 North American lightweight MMA prospects for July 2018.

Rankings based off the following...

  • North American fighters only. For example, Thiago Moises wouldn't qualify for these rankings despite training in the U.S.
  • No fighters that have fought for or who are set to fight for the UFC.
  • Fighters competing on Dana White's Contender Series included.
  • No long-term Bellator fighters or champions. Exceptions for some preliminary fighters.
  • All fighters aged 30 and under.
  • Rankings based off age, record, and level of competition.

#1 – Robert Watley (11-1)

The former LFA lightweight champion is coming off a controversial TKO win over UFC veteran Thiago Tavares at PFL #2 on June 21. Watley is currently riding an 11-fight win streak.  

#2 – Trey Ogden (10-2) 

The Glory MMA product submitted Travis Perzynski in the first round at LFA 34 on March 2. Ogden has won eight of his last nine fights and faces Thomas Gifford July 28 at KCFA 29. 

#3 – Nick Browne (7-1) 

Browne has finished six of his last nine opponents, including a first-round submission victory over Jeffrey Pelton at Pinnacle FC 17 on June 9. 

#4 – Bobby Lee (8-2)

Lee had his two-fight winning streak snapped as he was submitted in the second round against undefeated Killys Mota at LFA 41 on June 1. Still, Lee is the youngest fighter in the top five and his opponents have a combined 50-18 record. 

#5 – Daryl Wilson (7-2) 

Wilson has won six of his last seven fights, including a second-round TKO finish over Marcio Narvarro at Xtreme Fight Night 348 in May. The 25-year-old’s lone loss during that span was to No. 1-ranked Robert Watley at LFA 27.

  • No. 4-ranked Joe Giannetti has been removed from the rankings after making to the TUF 27 Finale
  • No. 17-ranked Luis Pena has been removed from the rankings after signing with the UFC
  • No. 19-ranked Matt Sayles has been removed from the rankings after signing with the UFC
  • Jalin Turner re-enters the rankings in the No. 16 spot 
  • Roosevelt Roberts enters in the rankings in the No. 18 spot
  • Mike Davis enters the rankings in the No. 19 spot
  • Jose Martinez Jr. enters the rankings in the No. 20 spot
