The August boxing matchup between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will go down as the biggest event of 2017, but UFC President Dana White says the card also shattered the record as the most lucrative fight of all time.

Nate Diaz may not have been involved in the boxing mega-fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, but his presence loomed everywhere in the lead-up to Saturday night's tilt in Las Vegas. That said, the younger Diaz brother also made his mark on the evening with some post-fight ruckus with former UFC heavyweight turned Showtime commentator and McGregor enthusiast Brendan Schaub.

Anytime two of the biggest stars in combat sports step in to do battle there is going to be a ton of hyperbole attached in the build-up, but by the time Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor squared off on Saturday night, the time for inventive storylines was over.
