FloCombat Prospect Rankings - March 2018

FloCombat Prospect Rankings - Featherweight - March 2018

FloCombat ranks the top 20 North American featherweight MMA prospects for March 2018.

Rankings based off the following....

  • North American fighters only. For example, Thiago Moises wouldn't qualify for these rankings despite training in the U.S.
  • No fighters that have fought for or who are set to fight for the UFC.
  • Fighters competing on Dana White's Contender Series included.
  • No long-term Bellator fighters or champions. Exceptions for some preliminary fighters.
  • All fighters aged 30 and under.
  • Rankings based off age, record, and level of competition.

March Notes:

  • Previously No. 2-ranked Juan Archuleta signed with Bellator and is ineligible for the rankings.
  • Previously No. 4-ranked Lance Palmer turned 31 years old and is ineligible for the rankings.
  • Jason Soares was mistakenly ranked at No. 11 in the lightweight division. He enters in at No. 3 on our featherweight rankings.
  • Matt Jones enters the rankings in the No. 20 spot.

#1 — Andre Harrison (17-0)

Harrison has one of the most impressive resumes on this list for a fighter who wasn't picked up by the UFC. The 29-year-old boasts wins over Kurt Holobaugh, Desmond Green, and Steve Siler. Last year he  captured the WSOF featherweight title by defeating Lance Palmer by unanimous decision at WSOF 35. Harrison should be the No. 1 seed for the upcoming PFL featherweight tournament.

#2 — Kevin Aguilar (12-1)

Aguilar captured the vacant LFA featherweight title last year when he knocked out UFC veteran Damon Jackson at LFA 4. The win was the 28-year-old's fourth in a row, as he hasn't lost since a 2013 TKO setback to former UFC featherweight Leonard Garcia at Legacy FC 26. Aguilar is currently on the shelf due to injury, but once he’s healthy it’s entirely possible he signs with UFC or defends his title against current interim champion Thanh Le.

#3 — Bryce Mitchell (9-0)

Mitchell will be featured on the upcoming season of "The Ultimate Fighter." The 23-year-old has won eight of his nine career fights by stoppage and has only gone out of the first round twice.

#4 — Jason Soares (10-0)

Soares has finished eight of his 10 career opponents but hasn’t competed since October 2016 due to matchups falling through. He faces Titan FC featherweight champion Luis Gomez on April 6.

#5 — Andres Quintana (13-2)

A standout in the Combate Americas promotion, Quintana has won five of his last six fights. “The Bullet” has finish 10 of his 15 career opponents and enters the top five with Juan Archuleta and Lance Palmer removed from the rankings.
