Valor Fights 49 brought a Muay Thai title fight, a hotly anticipated WMMA showdown, and more live to FloCombat Saturday, live from Maryville, Tennessee.

In the night's main event, Valor Fights showcased the women’s flyweight division with a headlining tilt between Christina Ricker and Megan Poe.

Ricker started off with crisp boxing as Poe was coming up short in the pocket, but both fighters started to find their range as the round wore on. Ricker woke Poe up with a left hook to the body, then Poe landed a straight right that made Ricker think twice before continuing to pressure her.

In the second round, Poe began to use her grappling and knees to the body, but Ricker scored a takedown as the round came to a close. From there, Ricker unleashed some ground-and-pound until the bell sounded.

The final round saw more of the same, as Ricker pressured Poe with her straight right hand and Poe looked for the clinch to avoid the striking battle from range. In the end, the veteran Ricker (4-4) was awarded the unanimous decision in a close, exciting tilt.

Before Ricker and Poe took the cage, the co-main event featured two undefeated Muay Thai fighters, as Jakob Clemons (5-0) faced Walter McCord (9-0) for the Valor Fights Flyweight Muay Thai title.

McCord started the fight off quickly, throwing a lethal 1-2 with a body kick to Clemons. Both guys showcased their speed and clearly felt right at home standing and striking with each other throughout the first two rounds.

In the final round, McCord started to find his second wind, even throwing some spinning kicks, and the judges rewarded his effort.

McCord stays undefeated at 10-0 and is the new Valor Fights Flyweight Muay Thai champion.
