Undefeated UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov returns to action at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas against Edson Barboza.

It is Nurmagomedov’s first bout since a submission victory over Michael Johnson in November 2016.

Ahead of the bout, there is some concern about Nurmagomedov’s health and weight. After all, Nurmagomedov has had three straight fights with Tony Ferguson canceled, including a scheduled March matchup that left the Russian fighter hospitalized due to weight-cutting complications.

But with his bout just over a week and a half away, Nurmagomedov is doing his best to reassure fans he will successfully hit his mark.

"I weighed this morning; 15 pounds left to cut. Fourteen days or two weeks to weigh in, I think it's good," Nurmagomedov said. "Don't believe in everything you hear from the internet. It's all bullshit about my weight. I am OK now.”

Let's hope he stays away from the tiramisu until fight night.

Nurmagomedov (24-0) and Barboza (19-4) are set to face off in the co-main event of UFC 219.

Headlining the pay-per-view card is a women’s featherweight championship bout between current titleholder Cris Cyborg and former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm.
