One of Bellator MMA’s top up-and-coming heavyweights is set to return March 22 at Bellator 218 in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Undefeated Gracie Barra Portland big man Rudy Schaffroth (6-0, one no-contest) will square off against Jeremy Hardy (6-4), FloCombat confirmed Wednesday night. The bout will air on the preliminary portion of the event.

Relatively untouchable thus far in his MMA career, Schaffroth has finished five straight opponents entering his third Bellator appearance. His first two showings inside the Bellator cage lasted a combined 3:33, with Schaffroth knocking out both Vernon Lewis and Jon Hill.

In his seven mixed martial arts outings, Schaffroth hasn’t seen a second round.

His opponent, LFA veteran Jeremy Hardy, has competed against the who’s who of heavyweights on the Texas regional scene. Prior to losing his last bout to the aforementioned Lewis, Schaffroth won back-to-back fights against Joel Moore and Juan Torres.
