“Air Claxton” is coming to Hawaii.
FloCombat confirmed with Bellator MMA officials Monday afternoon that Tywan Claxton (3-0) will take on Hawaii’s Kaeo Meyer (3-3) in a 150-pound catchweight bout Dec. 14 at Bellator 212.
The event is the first leg of a back-to-back fight night weekend for Bellator MMA.
One of Bellator's brightest up-and-comers, Claxton is undefeated thus far in his MMA career, notching three straight wins as a pro on top of a spotless 6-0 amateur resume.
Bursting onto the scene at Bellator 186 in November 2017, Claxton delivered a flying knee knockout for the ages on his opponent Jonny Bonilla-Bowman. The knockout went viral, even airing on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
His debut finish wasn't his only impressive performance to date, however. The 26-year-old fighter defeated Jose Perez in his sophomore outing before besting Chris Lencioni at Bellator 204 this summer.
His opponent, Meyer, a native of Honokaa, Hawaii, will be making his promotional debut in his own backyard. The Hawaiian has won two of his last three bouts under the X-1 World Events banner.
