Hot-Fire Main Event

In the night’s marquee matchup, fan favorite “Slippery Pete” Peter Barrett (9-2) returns to the cage to take on the always gritty Connor “Bare Knuckle” Barry (4-2).

Undefeated through his first eight fights, many believed Barrett was one win away from achieving UFC notoriety in early 2017. However, Barrett struggled in the latter half of the year, as he went 0-2, losing to Drew Morais and TJ Brown.

Reflecting on the losing streak, Barrett attributes the loss to personal issues outside of the cage. The Stoughton, Massachusetts, native had just lost his father and was moving into a new house at the time. There were clearly a lot of difficult distractions.

After taking some time off, Barrett returned to the cage earlier this year to take on renowned journeyman Jay Ellis. The 31-year-old returned to the “Slippery Pete” of old, running through Ellis in just 52 seconds at Cage Titans 38.

Barrett looks to up his win streak to two come Saturday night when he takes on 23-year-old Connor Barry.

Like Barrett, the UMASS Lowell graduate is coming off a win over Ellis. It took him slightly longer than Barrett—at 61 seconds–but it was an impressive showing nonetheless. The Stoneham, Massachusetts, native is known for his hard-nosed style and submission abilities.

But Barrett vs. Barry isn’t the only bout MMA fans should have circled on their fight card.

The CHAMP! Is Back

Before the two headliners hit the cage, two other lightweight finishers will square off inside the Cage Titans cage.

The highly touted and undefeated prospect Zach DiSabatino (3-0) will take on the aforementioned 92-fight veteran Jay Ellis.

While he’s only three fights into his professional career, DiSabatino has already caught the eye of MMA scouts. Marshfield, Massachusetts’s own has incredible finishing abilities, both on the ground and on the feet.

His opponent, Ellis, has been a tough test for many top-tier fighters during their ascent up the regional ladder. In fact, Ellis has fought over a dozen notable UFC and Bellator MMA veterans, including the likes of Colby Covington, Anthony Pettis, and Pat Curran.

Ellis even holds a win over former Bellator MMA featherweight champion Daniel Straus.

A Much-Anticipated Pro Debut

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be a featherweight bout between Stacey Anderson and Randy Costa.

Making the trip north for this bout, Virginia’s Anderson will be looking for his first professional win in five outings. The 27-year-old fighter most recently competed back in April at Cage Titans 38, when he was choked out by undefeated New Englander Jeff Perez.

An underling of UFC veteran Joe Lauzon, Costa will have all eyes on him in Kingston. The Massachusetts native’s debut is a highly anticipated one, following an undefeated amateur career on the New England regional scene.

But Wait... There's More!

On the preliminary portion of the evening’s face-punching festivities, a dozen of the region’s top amateur fighters will throw down.

Headlined by a women’s bantamweight title clash between Kylie O’Hearn (3-1) and Taylor Thompson (2-0), the amateur portion is poised to deliver some really high-end action.
