Bandejas is the No. 1-ranked Northeast pro bantamweight via Tapology, and you can't argue with the algorithm on this one.

The CFFC bantamweight champion has won five straight, earning the CFFC interim title and defending it once before becoming the undisputed king during that run.

His 10-1 record is as legitimate as it gets on the regional scene. He's won by submission, he's put dudes out with his hands, and he's even slammed his way to victory.

Bandejas' lone defeat came against UFC and WEC vet Nick Pac, the now-retired former CFFC bantamweight champ, at CFFC 52 back in 2015, and the 26-year-old scrapper has since patched up the holes in his game and made significant improvements everywhere.

Training out of Nick Catone MMA in Brick, New Jersey, alongside UFC studs Frankie Edgar, Marlon Moraes, Corey Anderson, Edson Barboza, and countless others, Bandejas is getting the reps he needs to take his game to the next level—and by all accounts, that step could be coming if he gets past Askar on Saturday night in the CFFC 70 main event in Atlantic City.

But it won't be easy.

Askar is a force, posting a perfect 6-0 record to kick off his professional MMA career.

Training out of Roufusport MMA in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Askar, like Bandejas, gets reps on a daily basis with some of the best fighters on the planet, preparing him for a move to the big leagues at any time.

His record is perfectly divided. He boasts two knockouts, two submissions, and two decisions in his six fights, proving that he can get the job done in any fashion necessary.

Askar will need to bring his full skill set to the table Saturday, but there's no doubt he's capable of dethroning Bandejas and putting those UFC aspirations on hold.

The champ is an animal hellbent on preventing that, though, and Askar will need to be perfect to walk away with the "W."

Will it be "and still" or "and new" Saturday in Atlantic City?

There's only one way to find out.  The fun beings live at 6 PM ET.
