Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Kyle Bochniak Targeted For UFC 223

Top prospect Zabit Magomedsharipov finally found an opponent.

The Dagestani wrecking machine recently called out several high-profile UFC athletes for turning down a fight with him, but it appears he's booked his next matchup against Kyle Bochniak for April 7 at UFC 223 in Brooklyn, New York.

Sources close to the contest confirmed the news to FloCombat on Friday following a post from Magomedsharipov on Instagram in which he first revealed the matchup.

Magomedsharipov is widely considered one of the top up-and coming-fighters on the UFC roster, with teammates such as Frankie Edgar and Edson Barboza raving about his potential as a future champion.

With a 2-0 record so far in the UFC, Magomedsharipov had been calling out any number of ranked featherweights to accept his challenge but found no takers.

Now he will face off with Bochniak, who is currently 2-2 in the UFC while coming off a win over Brandon Davis in his most recent appearance at UFC 220 in Boston in January.

Magomedsharipov will get to fight close to home with his training camp in New Jersey with the new matchup against Bochniak scheduled for UFC 223, which takes place at the Barclay Centers in Brooklyn with a pair of title fights at the top of the card.

Tony Ferguson meets Khabib Nurmagomedov in the lightweight main event, while Joanna Jedrzejcyzk looks to get revenge against Rose Namajunas in the co-main event for the strawweight championship.
