UFC President Dana White has acknowledged the fact that boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. is in talks to compete inside of the Octagon.

"We're talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal," White told ESPN.com. "It's real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren't real? He usually tips his hand when he's in the media, and then that shit ends up happening.

"We're interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f*cking happened. Anything is possible."

That news led to immediate speculation over who Mayweather's potential opponent could be if he were to ever make a UFC debut.

Well, at least one UFC star is throwing his name in the mix.

Enter flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

A match against Mayweather would immediately be the biggest and most high-profile fight of Johnson's career. “Mighty Mouse” has long sought the respect of being the pound-for-pound great that he is, and this could deliver a notch that his belt currently lacks.

However, a fight between Johnson and Mayweather seems unlikely.

Mayweather is a businessman. He’s smart, and he knows how to chase the money. If the 50-0 boxer is ever going to step inside of the cage, it won’t be against one of the best fighters mixed martial arts has to offer.

We’d watch, though.
