Francis Ngannou Puts Alistair Overeem To Sleep With Brutal KO

Francis Ngannou is a bad man. Scratch that....Ngannou is flat out terrifying.

"The Predator" has showcased a lot of weapons during his time inside the Octagon, but his power is quickly becoming the stuff of legend in mixed martial arts. The 31-year-old heavyweight had finished all five of his bouts inside the Octagon leading into his showdown with Alistair Overeem at UFC 218, and there was a good chance the clash of the two heavy-hitters would not see the final bell.

Not only did the fight not see the end of the opening round, but it only took one clean shot from Ngannou to put Overeem away. Scratch that....Overeem wasn't just put away, he was issued the violent sleeps in truly brutal fashion.

While the former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 champion came out looking to set the tone with pressure, Ngannou remained calm and jockeyed for position against the cage. After the referee split the two men up, Ngannou looked to close the distance and open up his striking.

Overeem attempted to reverse that play with some offense of his own, but after slipping a big punch, Ngannou unleashed a bomb of his own that leveled the massive Dutchman.

It was a one-shot kill in its truest form, and one that earned Ngannou the biggest victory of his career in the process.

With the win, Ngannou has now found success in all six of his showings under the UFC banner, and has clearly earned the right to face standing champion Stipe Miocic in his next bout.

My goodness what a knockout.
