The UFC 218 card in Detroit has taken a hit.

Lightweight slugger Al Iaquinta has been forced out of his upcoming fight against Paul Felder that was set for the Dec. 2 card.

Sources close to the situation confirmed to FloCombat that Iaquinta dropped out of the fight due to injury. Unfortunately, no further details are available at this time regarding the severity of the injury or how long Iaquinta may be sidelined.

With Iaquinta out, Felder will remain on the UFC 218 card against a new opponent, but as of yet no fight has been signed.

The upcoming card in Detroit is headlined by a featherweight title fight as reigning champion Max Holloway puts his belt on the line against Frankie Edgar while the co-main event features a heavyweight showdown between Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou.
