Flashback Friday: Kaitlin Young Plants Miesha Tate With Vicious Head Kick

Kaitlin Young is vicious.

That much is clear. The Muay Thai specialist came out of the gates strong in her professional mixed martial arts career, rattling off four straight knockouts -- with three of those coming under a minute.

None, however, stands the test of time like her first-round head kick of former UFC women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate.

One of the best fighters to ever grace the cage, Tate ascended to the sport's highest of highs, defeating Holly Holm at UFC 196 to win gold.

Well before that happened, however, Tate faced Young at Bodog Fight's HOOKnSHOOT tournament in November 2007, and the result was devastating.

Just 30 seconds into the fight, we had our winner.

Following the victory, Young's MMA career slowed, and she would eventually retire from MMA off four straight losses under the Invicta FC banner.

Her striking, however, has never been questioned, and that's exciting for fight fans, because Young returns to the cage Saturday, Sept. 9, at Driller Promotions: Mecca X in a Muay Thai showdown.

Will she unleash her eight limbs of fury like she did against Tate? Word on the street is that Young is pumped up and ready to go for this one, so we get the feeling a vintage performance is just around the corner.
