When Southern regional MMA standard Casey Oxendine gets involved in a fight card, high-wattage entertainment is guaranteed, and that's precisely what is on deck for VFW: Fight Night: Under Siege on Saturday night. The event kicks off at 6:30 PM EDT live from the Patton-Crosswhite VFW in Bristol, TN, and streams exclusively on FloCombat.
Let's take a look at why this card will bring the rock 'n' roll.
Ladies Holding Down Main Event Ruckus
The regional scene can be a tough place to establish a name. While Whittany Pyles and Christina Rickers are in the early stages of their careers, both women have already shown reasons for fight fans to get excited about them.
Pyles picked up a victory in her official debut at Cagezilla 45 back in March and will enter the cage in Bristol looking to keep that momentum building. The Virginia native is making the long trip south to do just that and will be facing a hostile crowd that will be in attendance to support her opponent on Saturday night. Should Pyles spoil Rickers' showcase, and do so in impressive fashion, the intensity of the spotlight will certainly grow.
That said, Rickers is going to do everything in her power to make Saturday's main event her night to shine.
The Knoxville native will enter the cage riding a two-fight winning streak in which she's looked absolutely impressive throughout. Of her three victories, all but one have come by way of the finish, which has gone a long way toward building the hype that currently surrounds her. If Rickers can flex her Tennessee pride and put Pyles away in the process, the volume on the buzz attached to her will kick up considerably.

Chris Buttry is a Force of Nature
There's no bigger attraction in mixed martial arts than a knockout artist, and Chris Buttry has jumped off to a strong start in establishing himself as a finisher. While the Tennessee native is only two fights into his career, both bouts ended early and in brutal fashion.
Buttry slings the heat with violent intentions and will be looking to add a win over a far more experienced Billy Combs to his resume. That said, with experience comes savvy and Combs won't walk out to the middle of the cage and simply lie down for Buttry.
In addition to the fight being the biggest test in Buttry's career, his co-main event placement on the card means he'll also have his biggest stage to date. If Buttry can perform when the pressure is on, it will serve to show he's the real deal and ready for more.
Stone Beverly Looks to Continue His March to the Big Leagues
The prospect label can be difficult to wear in MMA because it means expectations will always be set on high any night a fighter steps into the cage. Stone Beverly has never shrugged away from big moments and challenges, and that's what has made him a highly touted standout on the regional scene.
Despite a stumble earlier in the year in a hard-fought bout against fellow ultra-prospect Chase Boutwell under the Valor banner, the Kentucky native has rebounded in stellar fashion. Beverly has notched back-to-back victories in which he finished his opposition inside of the distance.
The most impressive aspect in regard to Beverly is his versatility at such a young age. The 18-year-old scrapper can strike from a distance and will absolutely render his opposition unconscious with a slick ground game. That said, Beverly is out to prove he's a certified star in the making, and he'll need to roll on strong at Under Siege to keep that chatter rolling.
