Chael Sonnen Believes Chuck Liddell Will Be Next Opponent
Bellator star Chael Sonnen believes he'll face UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell in his next fight.

At any given moment Chael Sonnen typically has a running list of potential opponents to face inside the cage.
"The Gangster from West Linn" keeps the heat and promotional buzz rolling strong and his options open because there's never any work making a fight where his side is concerned. Simply put: Sonnen is game for the square-up get down at all times. That's just how he's wired.
That said, there is one particular opponent lingering in his periphery, and Sonnen believes there's some substance to the cause. The former multi-divisional UFC title challenger and current Bellator star believes he'll see former UFC light heavyweight king Chuck Liddell inside the cage.
The UFC Hall of Famer has hinted about coming out of retirement, and Sonnen believes he'll scrap the legendary "Iceman" under the Bellator banner for his next dance.
"I think the most likely opponent is going to end up being Chuck Liddell," Sonnen told FloCombat. "We'll see what happens there, but that's what I think is going to happen.
"The way it works is eventually I'll get a call or a text from [Bellator president Scott] Coker telling me who he wants me to fight and when, and I'll text him back to accept. It'll be done just like that. I won't be part of a discussion or turn down anyone they want me to fight. I never have and I never will, and they can make it any weight class they want.
"I think there are actual legs to this Chuck thing. I really do."
