Mixed martial arts is a dangerous sport, and on Saturday night the absolute worst occurred at Hardrock MMA 90.

In a preliminary bout between Donshay White and Ricky Muse, the two fighters fought to the point exhaustion. Muse scored a TKO midway through the second round and it became apparent White was struggling to regain his bearings inside the cage. Following several tense minutes the promoter cancelled the rest of the event.

Once backstage White fell in and out of consciousness, and according to sources to the situation, stopped breathing and lost vital signs. White was transported to a local hospital where he was immediately tended to.

Update: Per a report from Bluegrass MMA White passed away at KentuckyOne Health St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. The initial report from Bluegrass listed the hospital as University of Louisville but that information has since been updated to reflect the correct facility.
