The tides of fate can swing quickly in mixed martial arts. This is a reality Travis Browne knows all too well.

It wasn't long ago when the rangy Hawaiian striker was figured to be the next big thing in the UFC heavyweight division, and now after suffering his fourth straight loss inside the Octagon, he'll more than likely be out of a job with the sport's biggest organization.

While "Hapa" was forced to tap to a rear-naked choke at the hands of Oleksiy Oliynyk at UFC 213 on Saturday night, it was just the latest setback in a long streak of missteps for Browne. The 34-year-old has now faced defeat in all but one of his past six outings inside the Octagon, and seeing this unfold has brought the UFC frontman to question whether or not Browne has anything left to offer in the fight game.

White addressed the matter at the post-fight press conference for UFC 213.

“Travis Browne was one of those guys right before, I would say the ‘Bigfoot’ fight, even the ‘Bigfoot’ fight he got injured," White said. "He blew his hamstring or something weird happened to him in that fight. The guy looked like he would be a world champion. And this is just one of those sports [where] you never know. One minute you’re absolutely unbeatable and unstoppable, and the next minute you can’t win a fight. I think that Travis should retire.”
