After an argument that turned physical during a press conference in May, Valentina Shevchenko says that she is ready to give UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes what she deserves inside the Octagon at UFC 213 this weekend. The current title challenger will seek revenge not only for the attack by the champion, but mainly for her only defeat in the UFC: a close decision at the hands of Nunes last year.

"I had a lot of pressure that day [at the press conference], there were a lot of people, a lot of journalists and she went crazy," Shevchenko said. "I had no intention of getting back at her [in that situation], but I will respond to that blow ten times stronger during the fight."

That fight will arrive this Saturday night and be the second time the two vicious strikers meet inside the cage. After her UFC 196 loss in March of last year, which paved the way for Nunes' own shot at the title, Shevchenko said she started training for a rematch a mere week after the fact.

"This camp was not just for this fight, since last year I started to train [for Nunes]," Shevchenko said. “After the fight, I had a week of rest and then I started to train so I can say that I've been preparing all the time. And in a few days, I will be in action.

"I am very well and fully prepared. We had a strong camp. We went to train in Thailand to evolve in Muay Thai. I also trained in Texas and Colorado. I am prepared to give the best of me. We work every day."

While Shevchenko said she has evolved plenty since that March night last year, Nunes recently stated she doesn’t think her opponent will show up too different from the version she fought in 2016. That doesn’t seem to bother “The Bullet” too much.

"I don’t care much what she says," Shevchenko insisted. “But if she thinks that then that’s good...she'll have a big surprise. It'll be worse for her because Saturday I'll put her in her place."

Shevchenko is confident she’ll emerge victorious because she has spotted holes in the Brazilian’s game:

"We were able to see in the last fight that in the third round she can not do anything," the challenger claimed. “Everyone saw that perfectly. But I'm ready for everything. I'm ready to do everything I need to get the victory."
