Yoel Romero Warns Michael Bisping: Stick To Pretend Fighting in the Movies

Yoel Romero is in hot pursuit of locking down a title shot with UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

The former Olympic wrestler turned mixed martial arts powerhouse has been chasing the brash-talking Brit since his brutal knockout victory over Chris Weidman at UFC 205 last November. Romero planted a perfectly timed flying knee on the New York native's skull and seemingly cemented himself as the next contender to the 185-pound crown in the process.

Romero used his post-fight interview to call out Bisping who was in the building doing commentary on the event, and the matchup seemed all but signed and sealed.

Wrong.

The months that followed the UFC's historic night at Madison Square Garden have seen a back-and-forth unfold between champion and challenger, and that particular game picked up tremendous steam this past week as the two fighters took turns exchanging barbs and blasts over a myriad of platforms.

Regardless of the method or approach, the one thing Romero wants to make perfectly clear is the time left on Bisping's title reign is running out. The American Top Team product is supremely confident the current champion will fold once the Octagon door closes behind them and took a moment on Thursday night to throw one more warning on the pile.

"There's nowhere Bisping can beat me," Romero told FloCombat with the assistance of a translator. "Not inside the Octagon or out. Maybe he should stick to doing movies. There he can keep pretending he can fight."

And while the world waits for the bout between the two hard-charging middleweights to become official, Romero refuses to sit idle. He wants to assure the masses his hunt will not stop until Bisping signs on the dotted line and agrees to step into the cage.
