Three Reasons to Watch UFC Salt Lake City
UFC Fight Night Salt Lake City (#UFCSLC) may not have a title fight or even immediate title picture implications, but don't think that isn't worth making time for this Saturday evening. Here are three reasons why you need to check-in on the action.

#3 - Cub Swanson gets us going early on UFC Fight Pass

The UFC's number #5 ranked feather Cub Swanson will return to action for the second time this year when he faces the number #14 ranked Tatsuya Kawajiri. Prior to two losses Frankie Edgar and Max Holloway, Swanson had built up a remarkable run of six straight wins in the Octagon having beaten well-established names such as Jeremy Stephens, Ross Pearson, Charles Olivera and even Dustin Poirier.

At the time, Swanson had a legitimate claim for a title shot, however, with a number of other contenders getting the nod ahead of him, he eventually failed to sustain his winning streaking.

Having suffered the pain of constantly being denied his shot at the gold, Swanson has returned in the last year with a rejuvenated mindset and newly established goals -- to read the full story check out Duane Finley's latest with Cub Swanson HERE

#2 - Mid-card talent will be looking to steal the headlines

Al Iaquinta has predicted six KOs in a row on the main card and while that may not be anything new for Strong Island's favorite lightweight, he may not be far wrong when it's all said and done come Sunday morning.

Up and down the card, there are guys flirting with entering the rankings and some even close breaking into the top ten. Guys such as Chris Cammozi, Zak Cummings, Thales Leites and Dennis Bermudez are all guys that are one impressive performance away from getting a shot at much higher ranked opponents.

Look for these to be making a statement in Salt Lake City and expect them to be looking for the finish. I'm sure Al Iaquinta will be in full approval -- watch the Al's break down the UFC Fight Night Salt Lake City Card HERE

#1 - Yair Rodriguez is a highlight-reel specialist

If you've not seen Yair Rodriguez's stunning scissor-kick knockout of poor Andre Fili at UFC 197 watch this video now:

Those who watch the English Premier League were instantly reminded of the Paolo DiCanio goal from the West Ham vs Wimbledon game in 2000. The rest of you were probably just thinking 'holy sh*t' Yair Rodriguez just nearly kicked his head off'.

This special moment was no isolated incident for Mr Rodriguez. The Mexican utilized a similar array of flying kicks against Charles Rosa at UFC 188 on his way to picking up the first of his four consecutive victories in the Octagon to date.

The Mexican is one of those fighters you simply can't take your eyes off and you really shouldn't on Saturday night when he meets the wily veteran Alex Caceres.
