Kevin Ferguson, Jr., son of Kimbo Slice, is set for his Bellator MMA debut.

The 24-year-old also known as "Baby Slice" will tackle his first professional MMA bout Aug. 26 in Anaheim, California, at Bellator 160, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The jump to the professional ranks comes after just one amateur fight, an 83-second knockout victory at Warrior Nation XFA XII in March.

"I was always around the fight business and everything, so I saw it and I understood what was going on," Ferguson told the AP. "I just knew without a doubt that one day, this was what I wanted to do."

In competing under the Bellator MMA banner, Ferguson extends his late father's legacy. The elder Ferguson competed for Bellator twice since June 2015 before passing away unexpectedly June 6 due to congestive heart failure.

"I won't say I adjusted well or it didn't bother me, but I was talking to him a few days before, so I understood what was going on," Ferguson told the AP. "It was more of a shock to the world, put it like that. It was still a very big tragedy, but I got through it. I'm still getting through it. I won't say I'm over it, but I'm working on it, I guess."

Bellator 160 is headlined by a high-profile lightweight tilt between former UFC champion Benson Henderson and Patricio Freire. An opponent for Ferguson is expected to be announced this week.
