Championship gold, a high-stakes main event and an opportunity for rising mixed martial arts talent to make a statement headline 2026 LFA 244: Woodley vs Havener.

Legacy Fighting Alliance returns to the Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, on Friday, Oct. 23, with Jake Woodley and Zayne Havener set to compete for the LFA middleweight world championship.

The event gives fans a chance to watch contenders chase a title and build momentum in one of MMA's leading proving grounds.

Here are three reasons to watch LFA 244.

WATCH

1. A Middleweight Championship Is On The Line

The main event alone gives fans a compelling reason to tune in.

Woodley, who enters the fight with an 8-1 record, faces Havener, who is 6-2, for the vacant LFA middleweight championship.

The title became available after former champion Joe Kropschot earned a UFC contract.

Woodley has been billed by LFA as its fastest knockout artist, while Havener earned his title opportunity with a submission victory over Andrew Stewart at LFA 235 in June.

Havener overcame an aggressive opening round before securing an arm-triangle choke in the second round.

With a championship belt at stake, both fighters have an opportunity to establish themselves as the division's next titleholder.

2. Two Rising Contenders With Different Paths To Gold

Woodley vs. Havener offers an intriguing matchup between two fighters looking to capitalize on a major opportunity.

Woodley's reputation as a dangerous finisher makes him a threat whenever the fight is on the feet. Havener, meanwhile, demonstrated his ability to adapt under pressure in his win over Stewart, using his grappling to secure the submission.

The championship bout will test whether Woodley can deliver another decisive performance or Havener can build on his momentum and claim the belt.

For fans following the next wave of MMA talent, the matchup also carries significance beyond the title itself. A strong performance could help put the winner on the radar for bigger opportunities.

3. A Full Fight Card Featuring Emerging MMA Talent

While the championship main event is the centerpiece, LFA 244 also features a lineup of fighters looking to build momentum and advance their careers.

The announced main card includes a welterweight matchup between unbeaten fighters Thomas Blackorby and Devan Worth, as well as a women's strawweight bout between Hilarie Rose and Bruna Ellen.

The card also features middleweight, flyweight, bantamweight and lightweight matchups.

LFA has built its reputation as a developmental promotion, with more than 375 athletes going on to compete in the UFC.

That track record makes its events an opportunity to discover emerging fighters before they reach larger stages.
