Since its inception in 1994, the CBJJ Brazilian National Championships referred to as the Brasileiro, has been one of the fiercest Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments in the world. Only nine non-Brazilians have clinched a gold medal finish in 30 years of competition, and of the nine champions, only three have repeated the accomplishment.

The WNO 23 card is now complete, with 4 undercard matches being announced for the event going down on May 10th in Arlington, Texas. The matches will feature some of grappling's most exciting up-and-comers and premier local talent, including Achilles Rocha who joins his father and sister on the card.

Dante Leon, the 2022 bronze medalist at -77kg, will be returning to ADCC Worlds in August. Dante has set himself apart in the last few years as one of the top pound-for-pound grapplers in the world, having defeated black belt champions up several weight classes from his more natural 155/170. This will be his third consecutive appearance at ADCC Worlds, having placed top-4 in the prior two editions. The entire tournament will be streaming exclusively on FloGrappling.

The Brasileiro Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF 2024 is scheduled for April 20-28 in Barueri, Brazil and marks the third IBJJF Grand Slam of the circuit. This event is one of the toughest on the IBJJF calender and will host some of the best Gi competitors from around the world.

Mica Galvao, the returning silver medalist at -77kg, has been officially invited to the ADCC World Championships. Mica has been active since the last ADCC Worlds and truly established himself as one of the best in the world at any weight class in that time. This will be his second appearance at ADCC Worlds. The entire tournament will be streaming exclusively on FloGrappling.

The 2024 ADCC World Championships is less than a year away, coming to Las Vegas, NV in August 2024.

Former IBJJF black belt World Champion Tye Ruotolo will put the gi back on to enter IBJJF Worlds at middleweight. Tye is a former world champion at lightweight who is known for his aggressive style, scrappy demeanor, and twin brother, and with this entry he sets up potential collision courses with champions like Mica Galvao and Tainan Dalpra.

February 17, 2024. It’s a cold morning, temperatures just above freezing in Zagreb, Croatia. Hundreds of athletes pace the floors or sit alongside the mats, warming up and patiently waiting for their turn to fight. Only eight will punch their tickets to the desert heat and fanfare of Las Vegas, Nevada for ADCC 2024, in exactly six months to the day.

UFC double champ Alex Pereira added to his collection of accolades at UFC 300, winning the main event and earning a promotion to black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from his coaches. The kickboxing-convert has spent the last few years of his career focusing on grappling with his coaches, including Glover Teixeira.

BJJ Stars, the Brazilian super fight organization, will be back April 27th with a medium-heavy grand prix and a strong slate of super fights for another evening packed with exciting action from some of the biggest names in gi jiu-jitsu. The grand prix winner will walk away with R$100,000 and the medium-heavyweight championship for the organization.

Mica Galvão will attempt to continue his 2024 IBJJF Grand Slam as he has entered the Brasileiros, going down April 20th-28th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mica has won the European and Pan Championships at black belt middleweight this year - but there were questions about his ability to compete after a recent lower leg injury.

The IBJJF World No-Gi Absolute Champion Roberto Jimenez will be at the ADCC World Championships, competing in the -99kg division. The move up marks a bump of two divisions and 22 kilograms from Roberto's 2022 tournament at -77kg. This will be his second appearance at ADCC Worlds. Roberto is currently ranked #9 in the world for no-gi grappling at 205lbs.

Both Tye Ruotolo and Kade Ruotolo won their ONE championship matches with the 'Ruotolo-tine' submission, an arm triangle variation from the back that combines elements of the rear naked, ezekiel, and darce for the strangle. It's the same finish that Tye used at 2022 ADCC against Pedro Marinho. Kade and Tye are undefeated in ONE championship action, and both brothers are invited to the ADCC World Championships in August.

An injury has forced a change to WNO's title fight, as Mica Galvao will be unable to defend his welterweight championship. Instead, challenger Tommy Langaker will take on ADCC West Coast Trials champion Andrew Tackett. This match is a meeting between 2024 ADCC Trials champions, with Tommy winning European Trials earlier this year. The two will meet at 185lbs for the short notice bout.

Kade Ruotolo, the returning champion at -77kg, has been officially invited to the ADCC World Championships. Kade's 2022 run was the most successful ADCC debut in history, winning the gold medal with a 100% submission rate. This will be his second appearance at ADCC Worlds.
