With Neil Magny's withdrawal coming just days before his UFC Rochester co-main event bout against Vicente Luque, the promotion was scrambling for a welterweight to save the day. They didn't have to look any further than Derrick Krantz.

FloCombat confirmed the news with multiple sources following a congratulatory post from Krantz's team.

Krantz, 31, has competed professionally since 2008, facing the who's who of fighters on the regional scene. While Krantz has ten losses on his 35-fight resume, almost every single one has come to an MMA notable.

"D-Rock" was granted an opportunity to fight on this summer's Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series after a stellar performance in the LFA 63 main event. UFC President Dana White was on hand to see the FloCombat veteran's handy work, as he knocked out Justin Patterson in the first round.

His opponent, the Brazilian Luque is highly regarded as one of the UFC's hottest up and coming stars, having won four straight bouts entering UFC Rochester.
