Watch: Mackenzie Dern Earns Biggest Win Of Career Over Mandy Polk At LFA 24
Brazilian jiu-jitsu megastar and top MMA prospect Mackenzie Dern keeps on rollin'.

Taking on Mandy Polk at Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) 24 Friday, Oct. 13, Dern notched the biggest victory of her young MMA career, submitting Polk via rear-naked choke in Round 1.

An ADCC and three-time no gi world champion, Dern is one of the most decorated prospects in the game today, so that result is not particularly surprising. What makes it so huge for her is the fact that it was set up with her hands.

Dern showcased an improved jab and a massive overhand right, dropping Polk to the canvas before pouncing immediately on the back and locking in the choke. Midway through the round, it was over, and Dern improved to 4-0.

After difficulties making the 115-pound weight limit in two of her first three pro contests, Dern competed at flyweight (125 pounds) for the first time Friday at LFA 24, and the results stayed the same. In fact, they improved.

Training at the MMA Lab under Head Coach John Crouch and alongside standout fighters such as Benson Henderson, Lauren Murphy, Bryan Barberena, and numerous others, Dern has steadily improved her striking to complement her world-class grappling skills, and the results have shown inside the cage.

Where Dern goes from here remains to be seen, but there's no doubt her win over Polk represents a strong step toward the bright lights of the UFC Octagon.
