3 Reasons To Watch Cage Combat 29
A trio of title belts in the flyweight, lightweight, and middleweight divisions are up for grabs at Cage Combat 29 from the Humble Civic Center in Humble, Texas, on Saturday, August 19. Here are three reasons to watch live on FloCombat at 7 PM EST.

The Conor McGregor of Cage Combat?

Cage Combat featherweight champion Alonzo Sanchez moves up to the lightweight division to face Tim Cormier for the promotion's 155-pound title. Sanchez (8-1 amateur) looks to become a multi-division champion for the Texas-based promotion and carries a six-fight winning streak into the championship showdown. The 23-year-old fighter has finished seven of his nine career opponents and hasn't gone the distance in a fight since October 2015.

Cormier (5-1 amateur) is the current Fury FC lightweight champion and is riding a four-fight winning streak into this matchup. The Paradigm Training Center product has won three of his five fights by submission, so look for the 29-year-old to take this to the mat early.

Hurtado Looks to Keep His "O"

Undefeated Alvaro Hurtado battles middleweight champion Shane Sobnosky in the evening's co-main event. Hurtado (4-0 amateur) last saw action in March, when he took home a unanimous decision over Johnny Thomas at Cage Combat 28. The 23-year-old Hurtado will be competing for his first title.

Sobnosky (3-1-1 AM) has turned things around since a 0-1-1 start to his amateur career by winning three straight fights. The Texas native captured the promotion's middleweight title in his last fight, earning a unanimous decision over Justin Holiday at Cage Combat 28.

Flyweight Gold on the Line

Cage Combat flyweight champion Dominick Perez makes the first defense of his title against 19-year-old Alden Coria. Perez (4-2 amateur) has lost back-to-back fights, including a split-decision setback to Eduardo Anaya at LFA 7 in March.

A 24-year-old scrapper, Perez is no doubt hungry to prove his doubters wrong while also keeping his 125-pound strap. Coria (2-0 amateur) makes his Cage Combat debut and heads into this title fight off a unanimous decision victory over previously undefeated Daniel Peet at Fury FC 16. The Texas native Coria has only fought twice since 2015.
