Throwback Thursday: Jon Jones Annihilates Poor Soul In Pro MMA Debut
Brad Bernard probably didn't realize he was about to fight arguably the greatest fighter of all time when he signed the contract to scrap Jon Jones at Untamed 20 in April 2008.

As soon as the bell rang, however, Bernard realized he wasn't dealing with a mere human. Seconds into the fight, Jones had Bernard's back, and while Bernard eventually escaped, it didn't get any better for him from there.

Let's just say he'd probably like those 92 seconds of his life back.

For Jones, the win was the first of many.

The New York native would need just three years from that point to capture the UFC light heavyweight championship, becoming the youngest champion in UFC history by defeating Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 128.

More wins followed, as Jones racked up accolade after accolade, running his current record to 22-1 (with the one loss coming via disqualification in a fight he was moments from winning). Jones will now face Daniel Cormier in a hotly anticipated rematch July 29 at UFC 214 in Anaheim, Calif.

Despite his accomplishments and success, everyone starts somewhere, and Jones' start was indicative of where he'd soon go--straight to the top.
