Cris Cyborg can't get a fight.

The 17-1 Brazilian standout campaigned for a showdown with Invicta FC featherweight champ Megan Anderson recently--with Anderson herself saying she was down for that scrap at July 29's UFC 214 event during The MMA Hour.

Today, however, MMAFighting.com reported Anderson will instead stay with Invicta FC and headline July 15's Invicta FC 24 fight card in Kansas City, Missouri, against the 5-0 Helena Kolesnyk.

For Cyborg, this is just one more unfortunate turn that will seemingly keep her on the sidelines for the time being.

"I wish Megan good luck," Cyborg told FloCombat. "The fact she is fighting an undefeated 5-0 fighter at 145 proves there are women I could have been fighting in the UFC at 145 pounds the entire time I've been signed to the promotion instead of undersized girls being forced up a weight class once they've suffered a few losses at 135."

With Anderson out of the running, former UFC bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano emerges as the leader in the Cyborg sweepstakes.

Zingano has also said she'd gladly face Cyborg inside the Octagon at 145 or 140 pounds, making her a prime candidate for Cyborg's next fight.

To date, Cyborg has fought twice in the UFC Octagon since being signed in March 2015, winning both fights at a catchweight of 140 pounds via stoppage.

Since her most recent victory at UFC Fight Night: Cyborg vs. Lansberg in September 2016, the UFC has introduced a women's featherweight division and crowned its first champion, Germaine de Randamie, at UFC 208 in February 2017.

While this seemed to open the door for Cyborg to fight more frequently inside the UFC Octagon, it hasn't shaken out that way so far.

Stay tuned to FloCombat as news of Cyborg's next fight continues to develop.
