CES MMA welterweight champion Chris Curtis makes his promotional debut, and this card also features undefeated featherweight Joseph Maness and a championship showdown for vacant amateur welterweight title. Here are three reasons to watch.

 

“The Action Man” Returns

Chris “The Action Man” Curtis looks to add another piece of hardware to his collection when he takes on Portland Pringle III for the welterweight title.

Curtis (15-5) heads into this matchup having won five of his last six fights, including a second-round TKO victory over Will Santiago at CES 42 in March. The 29-year-old fighter, who trains out of Team Quest in Temecula, California, with Dan Henderson, hopes an impressive win here will land himself a UFC contract.

Curtis has fought the likes of ​The Ultimate Fighter 25’s Tom Gallicchio, UFC veteran Nah-Shon Burrell and current UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad.

Pringle III (10-6) heads into this matchup on a three-fight winning streak, including back-to-back submission victories. The 33-year-old Kentucky native picked up the Odyssey Fights welterweight title in September when he defeated JD Domengeaux.

Mayhem aims to stay unbeaten

Joseph “Mayhem” Maness looks to keep his unblemished record intact when he faces Marc McDonald in a featherweight affair. Maness (7-0) made his pro-debut in 2013 and has racked off three stoppage victories in seven career matchups.

The 25-year-old Abermale, North Carolina, native hopes an impressive win here will land him an opportunity in the big show. 

McDonald (3-2) had a successful debut for Premier MMA in February as he knocked out Chris Coggins in the first round at Premiere MMA 1. The 24-year-old Ohio native has yet to go the distance in his last three fights, so don’t expect this matchup to hit the judges scorecards.

 

Harris vs. Farris in a welterweight title fight

The Premier MMA amateur welterweight title is up for grabs when Cody Harris battles Dylan Farris.

Harris (8-9-1 NC) is in dire need of a victory, having lost six of his last eight fights. The 26-year-old has fought primarily for the Kentucky-based Absolute Action promotion and will be making his debut for Premier MMA.

Farris (6-2) emerged victorious in his Premier MMA debut back in February, earning a split-decision nod over previously undefeated Perry Stargel. The Felicity, Ohio, native has won half of his wins by stoppage and has only gone the distance twice in his career.
