Rory MacDonald just wants to bust skulls.

From his days as a top contender in the UFC's welterweight division to his current status as one of the hottest names in Bellator MMA, the Canadian fighter flat-out brings the heat. And it doesn't look like he's slowing down any time soon ahead of his promotion debut against Paul Daley on May 19 at Bellator 179 in London, England.

During an exclusive video series from Fight Network called Tristar Stories, MacDonald dives into the psychology behind his fighting life, highlighting the fact that he's just an average, normal dude.

An average, normal dude who can wreck you in the blink of an eye, that is.

"I'm happy that I've had success, and hopefully I can continue to have even more success in the near future," MacDonald said. "I'm just trying to get better. I'm not worried about if I'm more popular than the next guy. I'm just trying to get in there, prepare myself for my fights. I'm looking at the fight.

"I want to smash peoples' faces in. That's it. I'm having fun doing that. I'm not here for a popularity contest or anything."

That said, MacDonald understands that popularity is not a bad thing in the fight game. He won't talk down on those fighters who have felt true fame. He's just not interested in joining them.

"I understand when you have success, the attention is on you," MacDonald said. "I don't go out of my way to be seen or things like that or have paparazzi or people swarming me all the time. I'm not that kind of popular or star or anything. I'm just a regular guy with a family, and I come and train, and I have my fights. I have a pretty normal life I think."
