Triton Fights 1 Results: John Gotti Takes Home Gold
John Gotti wins again.

Grandson to the infamous New Yorker of the same name, the young Gotti has established himself on the New York MMA scene with his powerful hands and his smothering top game, moving to 5-1 at Triton Fights 1 on FloCombat.

Taking on Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Anthony Wolter Friday evening, Gotti surprisingly implemented a grappling-heavy attack, besting his foe at his own game and controlling the pace from the top for the bout's duration and winning the unanimous decision. Now 5-1 with some gold around his waist, Gotti looks primed to either test his lightning fists as a pro or continue to reign over the amateur ranks.

Elsewhere on the card, former Olympic boxer and Golden Gloves champion Jennifer Dugwen suffered defeat in her MMA debut, falling to Destiny Quinones via unanimous decision. While Dugwen's hands looked exceptionally sharp and polished, she was unable to avoid grappling exchanges, getting repeatedly pinned to the mat where her fists were ineffectual. With solid control and a handful of submission attempts, Quinones cruised to victory.

The top two fights ended via decision, but there were plenty of finishes to spill beer over during Triton Fights 1, beginning with the opening fight of the night between Mike Jardine and Alex Santiago. Jardine blistered Santiago early, seemingly earning the knockout victory.

However, due to New York novice rules, strikes to the head of a grounded opponent are not allowed, and Jardine landed one after the initial blow, so he was disqualified.

The night also featured plenty of slick submissions, like this:

And submission escapes, like this:

There were even some crushing slams to go around.
