Polish promotion KSW are preparing for their biggest show of all time on May 27 and yesterday evening another title fight was added to the card.

Joining the already announced heavyweight title clash between champion Fernando Rodrigues Jr and challenger Marcin Różalski, last night it was revealed on Polish TV channel Polsat KSW featherweight champion Marcin “Polish Zombie” Wrzosek (12-3) will defend his newly won title against jiu-jitsu specialist, Kleber Koike Erbst (21-4).

The fight will take place at the KSW Colosseum event on May 27th at Warsaw’s National Stadium in front of what is expected to be KSW’s biggest ever live crowd.

Wrzosek had previously said he was hoping for a rematch with the man who defeated him in his only UFC outing, Julian Erosa. KSW however, seemingly had other ideas and they’ve matched him up against a tough stylistic opponent in the form of Koike.

The Japanese native of Brazilian descent is in a rich run of form having won his last three fights. His record includes 18 wins by way of submission and he’s built a reputation on both the Asian and European circuits as one of the most dangerous submission artists competing in MMA.

In his last fight, Koike picked up a performance bonus against Leszek Krakowski back in October at KSW 36. His last defeat came in 2015 to former champion Artur Sowinski who was the man Wrzosek defeated back in December to claim the title at KSW 37: Circus of Pain.

Stylistically Koike couldn’t be more different to Wrzosek, but the champion comes into the fight in good form himself having won six of his last seven fights.

Speaking to FloCombat last week, Wrzosek said that he was promising to keep the belt for a long time and that no one will stand in his way. If he’s to do that he must defeat Koike on May 27 and bring an end to the challengers recent winning run.

More fights are set to be announced soon with Mamed Khalidov expected to defend his KSW middleweight crown for the second time, former World’s Strongest man competitor Mariusz Pudzianowski, and Olympic bronze medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling Damian Janikowski all expected to feature.
