Jillian DeCoursey came into her bout Friday night looking to make a statement.

The 32-year-old atomweight brought an impressive winning streak and an ambition to collect more championship gold into her main event tilt against LIndsey VanZandt at KTOF & ACC: Worlds Collide. Although DeCoursey still competes as an amateur, one more addition to her resume would only further her appeal to the big leagues in WMMA.

DeCoursey wasted zero time getting to work as she immediately pushed VanZandt against the cage in the clinch where she spent the entire first round controlling the action. The second round saw a bit more action between the two title competitors as VanZandt began to find a home for her combinations.

The bout was close going into the final frame but once again DeCoursey took control as she dictated the fight on the feet and on the canvas. VanZandt provided a final push as she locked in a leg triangle, but the clock expired before any real threat could be presented.

When the judges’ scorecards were read it was DeCoursey who took the unanimous decision and picked up the USMTA Atomweight title in the process.
