FloCombat has confirmed with sources close to the bout that a matchup between Lamas and Charles Oliveira is being targeted for The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3 Finale in Mexico City on Nov. 5.

The former featherweight title challenger was originally slated to face B.J. Penn at Fight Night 97 on Oct. 15, but the MMA legend was forced out of the bout with injury. Penn's removal from the card led to the entire event being scrapped by the UFC.

The promotion said all the fighters on the Manila, Philippines, card would be rescheduled, and it appears the UFC has wasted no time in doing so.

A Chicago native, Lamas has found success in three of his past five showings inside the Octagon, and suffered a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Max Holloway in his most recent outing on June 4.

Oliveira has been on a similar trajectory as of late, and the Brazilian grappling ace enters the bout with Lamas coming off a setback defeat to Anthony Pettis at UFC on Fox 21 back in August.
