Edgar and Thompson Say '180-Pound' Alvarez Not Shaken by McGregor
Just 24 hours after taking part in the UFC 205 press conference, Stephen Thompson and Frankie Edgar joined Matt Serra and Jim Norton on the UFC Unfiltered podcast on Wednesday.

Poor Jeremy Stephens

After witnessing Conor McGregor in full flow, Thompson and Edgar gave their thoughts on the Irishman's antics and his shutdown of Jeremy Stephens.

"He kind of set himself up for that for one. He looked bad because he was just like, 'Who the f*ck is that guy,'" Edgar said laughing.

"It was hard to hear what the guys on stage were saying, because the speakers were going outward," Thompson said. "The crowd were just nuts."

Alvarez neither shaken or stirred

Despite Edgar having campaigned hard for a fight with the Irishman for the past year, even he said he found McGregor entertaining. While finding it humorous, neither Edgar nor Thompson believed current UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez was left quaking in his boots by what transpired on the stage on Tuesday evening.

"I don't think so," Edgar said. "I thought he dealt with it pretty well. He got in Conor's face and made some funny faces. I think he took it all in his stride. I think he knew what he was getting in to.

"This is life-changing [for Alvarez]. I think a lot of the champions are happy that Conor is on this card."

Having trained with Mark Henry and Alvarez just hours after the press conference, Thompson remarked on how Alvarez was a bigger man than he thought he was.

"He's a big dude, man," Thompson said. "I didn't realize how big he was. We trained last night and he must be walking around like what -- 180? That's only like, five pounds less than I am."

With UFC 205 looking to be the biggest UFC fight card of all time, Edgar and Thompson talked about their excitement for November 12 and taking the UFC to Madison Square Garden in New York City for the first time.

"Front to back, it's just stacked," Edgar said.

"It's got everything -- you got some characters in there, and the crowd was just absolutely nuts, man," Thompson said.

Wonderboy knows Woodley is a dangerous man

Thompson then gave his thoughts on his opponent, Tyron Woodley.

"Tyron is a monster dude. He's got some of that one hitter quitter power, so I got to watch out for that right hand," Thompson said.

"I don't even know how," Thompson said when asked how he'd got under Woodley's skin. "He called me fake humble, right -- my dad set him straight on Twitter. He said that I knew we were going to fight six weeks ago, and I didn't. I found out the day he announced it on Fox Sports 1. He was upset that I was like, 'He's running from me, he's scared,' which I never said that. It was people putting stuff in my mouth.

"It didn't go down like that though. My dad got on him on Twitter and said this is how it went. Next thing you know they are going back and forth. That's the way it is though man, you gotta let him do it."
