KTFO 15 took over The Space in Westbury, New York, Friday, Sept. 9, making history in the process.

As the first fully sanctioned and legal MMA event since the ban on the sport was lifted in March of 2016, KTFO 15 will forever hold a special place in MMA lore. While this alone provides a compelling storyline, the fights themselves delivered, kicking the moment up a notch and tying a ribbon on the evening's festivities with its furious action.

In the main event, Paul Thimote and Ryan Castro came out swinging heavy shots, and the end came swiftly. Thimote set up his opponent beautifully before landing a crushing high kick that sent Castro to the canvas in a heap. For his efforts, Thimote took home the KTFO lightweight title.

Also of note, Matt Roman upset KTFO welterweight champion Clubber Creed to take home gold, Mike Martinez out-pointed Irvin Averbukh to secure the KTFO bantamweight title, and John Gotti of the famous New York Gotti family won via brutal first-round knockout (watch).
