Michael Bisping might be the pound-for-pound GOAT behind the mic.
The longtime UFC combatant recently met a career goal by earning a title shot against champ Luke Rockhold at June 4's UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. After Rockhold's original opponent, former champ Chris Weidman, bowed out of the fight due to injury, Bisping was quick to answer the call.
He was quick to unleash his expert trash-talking during a recent interview on UFC Tonight.
"Well, obviously, Chris Weidman yet again pulled out of a fight," Bisping said. "'Jacare' decided that he had no balls. So of course, they needed a real fighter to step in—a fighter's fighter—somebody with the heart and determination that's willing to do this."
Unfortunately for Bisping, the fight with Rockhold already played out once, and the results were clear. At UFC Fight Night 55 in November 2014, Rockhold blasted Bisping with a head kick before following him to the mat and submitting him with a one-arm, mounted guillotine.
The win was dominant, but Bisping is ready to prove that at 37 years old and coming off a massive victory over Anderson Silva, he's a new fighter.
"Listen, you know [the] first time I kicked your ass in training," Bisping said. "Yes, OK, you got the better of me in that last fight, but every fight is different…You know this. Luke, don't underestimate me, pal. All the pressure's on you, mate."
Rockhold isn't buying it.
"Come get it, come get it," Rockhold said. "Weidman was going to get a beating, 'Jacare' would've got whooped, [and] you're going to get slaughtered."
