Luke Rockhold Talks Chris Weidman: 'He's A Bit Delusional At Times'
Luke Rockhold is not a huge fan of Chris Weidman.

Speaking on Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour on MMAFighting.com, Rockhold talked about Weidman's recent victory over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Long Island, giving his old foe props -- then immediately nullifying them with some shade.

"He's definitely, he's got something back together and we'll see," Rockhold said. "I mean, he did fight Kelvin Gastelum. He did fight a 170-pounder. So we'll see, we'll see what's to come with him. He's got a long ways to go."

Weidman, however, feels he's ready for the middleweight belt.

"I'm the champ. I'm the best guy in the world, and I think people know that," he told MMAFighting.com after his July 22 victory.

Rockhold isn't having it.

"He's a bit delusional at times," Rockhold said. "He just lost three in a row, so for him to think he's the champion is pretty far from. But he looked decent."

Rockhold and Weidman previously fought at UFC 194 back in December 2015, where Rockhold took the victory via fourth-round TKO. That loss was Weidman's first as a professional, and it kicked off a three-fight losing streak he only recently broke versus Gastelum.

And while Rockhold won the UFC middleweight title in that fight, he too fell on rough times inside the cage following the win. In his first title defense, Rockhold was knocked out by Michael Bisping in a massive upset at UFC 199 in June 2016.

With nothing booked just yet, Rockhold could potentially face Weidman in his next trip to the cage. Rockhold and Weidman are ranked No. 3 and No. 5, respectively, in the UFC's middleweight division, and a fight between the two could establish the next title contender at 185.

But Rockhold isn't feeling it. Asked if he sees a rematch with Weidman as a possibility moving forward, Rockhold laid down the hammer.

"For his sake, I hope not," he said.
