Regional MMA is home to some of the most competitive organizations in the sport, and two of the Southeast's premier shows put their pride on the line as Warrior FC faced Valor Fights at Border Wars on FloCombat.

With the Warrior contingent fighting out of Kentucky and Valor from Tennessee many of the competitors were familiar with one another, which made for a great night of fights. When the business was all settled inside the cage Warrior took the night by winning nine of the 12 scraps inside the cage.

That said, even though that balance was settled midway through the main card, the action in the main event had a little something extra on the line in the form of championship gold.

Valor's champion Dustin Long squared off with Warrior FC's heavyweight king Ben Rowland with their respective promotional titles on the line. That's a strange scenario by any measure, but on the regional MMA scene it's certainly notable.

Long came out looking to press the action, but Rowland stuffed a takedown early and the action hit the mat. After a quick scramble back to the cage, Rowland began unloading knees from the side and the third knee forced Long's shoulder out of place. Long immediately tapped and the fight was brought to a conclusion. With the victory, Rowland adds the Valor Fights heavyweight crown to the Warrior FC title he already held.
