To say Luke Rockhold isn’t a happy camper these days would be an understatement.

The former UFC middleweight champion has been engaging in beefs aplenty, with his most recent static with Fabricio Werdum hitting all levels of strange. The AKA fighter suggested he would jump up to heavyweight in order to scrap with the former titleholder, but that move seems far from likely in the grand scheme of things.

Regardless of how grudges play out, Rockhold is even more frustrated with how things are going in his current division. The middleweight title is locked up in a matchup between champion Michael Bisping and former welterweight king Georges St-Pierre, in a move that left contenders like himself and Yoel Romero out in the cold.

The decision to let GSP fight for the title is one Rockhold says he not only doesn’t understand, but suggests an unfortunate trend in how the new ownership sees high profile bouts.

“I’m bummed they took this route,” Rockhold told UFC Tonight. “It’s kind of taken away from the heart of the sport. It’s about the top guys fighting each other. This isn’t WWE. This is fighting. It’s what it’s all about. So when they make moves like this, it definitely makes you question a lot of things of what you’re doing and how you approach things.”
