Tony Ferguson’s frustrations appear to be continuing.

The red-hot lightweight contender saw his shot at the UFC interim strap at 155-pounds fall apart when his opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov pulled out of their scheduled scrap at UFC 209 last month with health problems. Ferguson did everything he could possibly do to stay on the card, but when failure to reach a solid financial deal with the promotion occurred, “El Cucuy” took his talents back to the sidelines.

Ferguson remained vocal in the days immediately following the debacle in Las Vegas saying he was only paid half the money he was promised by UFC President Dana White. For a fighter who has put together the streak The Ultimate Fighter alum has amassed, it has to be frustrating to still have no clear path to championship gold in sight.

On Wednesday night Ferguson took to Twitter to throw a shot at current titleholder Conor McGregor and gave the Irish superstar clear instructions on how he feels the throne should be handled.

With the current influx of news hitting on the potential bout between the Dublin native and boxing great Floyd Mayweather becoming a reality, it seems unlikely Ferguson will get the resolution he's after. Then again, Ferguson is as tenacious as they come in the fight game and it's a solid bet he'll continue to press until he gets what he's after.
