Chad Mendes returned to the cage on Sunday night in Portland, Oregon.

There would be no punches, knees or kicks thrown in the bout, but the Team Alpha Male standout certainly put on a show at Submission Underground 3.

The former multi-time UFC featherweight title challenger stepped in against Southern California based jiu-jitsu wizard Jeff Glover in a submission only bout in Portland's legendary Roseland Theater. While the match would be Mendes' official debut under the EBI ruleset, "Money" lived up to his nickname as he used his deep wrestling pedigree to take the veteran Glover to overtime.

Although Glover would force Mendes to tap in 34 seconds of the first period, EBI rules created a scenario where Mendes would have the chance to give back what he got. And that's precisely what he did.

In a quick burst of action one of the top featherweight mixed martial artists in the world forced a lightning quick tap from Glover to take the victory at SUG 3.
