FC Gym Stories: Georgi Karakhanyan Gets Ambushed by SWAT Team
Former World Series of Fighting featherweight champion and current Bellator featherweight contender Georgi Karakhanyan is one of the most exciting fight finishers in the sport today.

His signature submissions coupled with his heavy hands and all around aggressive style make his fights must see when they are live and free on Spike TV.

In our newest installment of gym stories, Karakhanyan tells the unforgettable story of an event at Millennia MMA involving troubled former golden boy of boxing, Marshall Martinez. It was a scene ripped right out of an action movie that both men barely lived to tell about.

Former US Olympic Team member Martinez trained for well over a decade with Oscar De La Hoya and numerous boxing greats during his career. Unfortunately for Martinez, countless poor decisions have led to unending legal battles that, ultimately, led to lengthy periods of incarceration for the pugilist.

"We trained with a very good and well known boxer named Marshall Martinez." Karakhanyan said. "He was training with us at Millennia MMA for a while. Marshall is in prison now and I will tell you why."

We were training one day and this whole SWAT team comes in the gym and puts us all on the ground. They were looking for Marshall. You have to understand. There were a bunch of fighters in there training at the time. All of a sudden the SWAT team comes in with guns drawn on us. I was like 'What the f*** is going on?' I was shaking, man. At first, I didn't think they were part of law enforcement. I thought it was some kind of f****** mafia or something looking for us."

"Marshall was crazy. He did a lot of crazy things. I don't know exactly what he did but I think he's in jail for a long time. That was just a crazy, crazy day."
