Nearly two weeks have passed since Jon Jones was cited for a violation of USADA's anti-doping program, but he still remains the name on everyone's lips.

Former UFC women's bantamweight champion, Holly Holm faces Valentina Shevchenko this Saturday at UFC Fight Night Chicago. As a close friend of Jones and a member of the same Jackson-Winkeljohn training camp, it was almost inevitable she was going to be asked about what she made of the Jones situation on Monday's media call.

"He's always been supportive of my whole career and he was even there for some of my boxing fights," Holm said. "He's always kinda helped me, been a good mentor and a good teammate so I'd never want anything negative to happen to one of my teammates so I don't know all the facts or the details and I haven't been too involved in that subject or situation.

"I'd never want to support anything negative or wrong and I don't want to assume anything that I don't know the facts on so I really...I guess we will just see how everything pans out."

While not particularly willing to comment on the circumstances surrounding Jones' removal from UFC 200, Holm did give some further insight on Jones had been doing since returning to Albuquerque.

"I haven't talked to him in great detail about the situation," Holm said later on. "He has been in the gym and he has been training. He's said I'm going to do at least one thing every day and become better, become a better fighter and learn and keep evolving.

"Other than that, he's not talked much about it and he's just been trying to support the rest of the team as they prepare and try to be a teammate to everyone else. Like I said, I don't know a lot about the factual details behind it and I haven't gone too much into detail about it."

Holm was asked for more detail on when exactly Jones returned and her interactions with him.

"He came in on the Monday after the weekend [of UFC 200]," Holm confirmed. "He came home Sunday night and came back in the gym Monday morning. I haven't asked a lot from him. I just know he is there.

"The heavyweights train the hour before the lightweights do so it just depends on the day. Some days we will train together but I've just been there with my fight on my mind and that's been my focus.

"I've really not put a lot of thought into it. I just talked to him briefly at the gym and the only thing he really said was exactly what he put on his Instagram that he's not going to let anything take away from his joy and he was going to keep trying to push forward and get better. So that's the most I've really talked to him about it."
